Hacienda de las Flores Wedding

Nestled in the heart of the East Bay, this Spanish style historic estate serves as an enchanting and tranquil backdrop, and felt like the perfect fit for Jessica and Aravind's wedding day. The bride and groom shared that they liked how the Spanish style was a nod to Jessica’s roots. And the spacious nine acres gave plenty of options for the various locations throughout the day, and so many beautiful places to take photos!

The venue gets such a beautiful golden hour!

When I first chatted with the couple before their wedding, they shared that they could be a bit camera shy. So feeling comfortable while being photographed was important to them. So we scheduled their engagement session at golden hour at Baker Beach in San Francisco. And we all had the best time running around the beach, having fun, and getting to know each other! When they received their engagement photos, they were in love with them. And having that session together made all the difference on the day of their wedding; they felt confident in me and comfortable with me. And when we have that trust, the BEST photos are created!

We planned the First Look for our couple under the Portico, giving them a bit of privacy but it also create a beautiful frame of them! The picturesque grounds, adorned with flowers, a towering oak tree, and a grove of redwoods, create a serene atmosphere that is both romantic and secluded.

Getting ready at the Hacienda

There are many different ceremony location options, but this one is my favorite at Hacienda de las Flores! The wrought iron gates add so much texture with old vines wrapping the stone wall, and towering trees just behind! You can really feel this venue’s history, and in this spot, the lighting is perfect in the late afternoon.

Just married and so happy! A walk down the aisle at Hacienda de las Flores.

One of the perks of having an outdoor summer wedding in the east bay, is that the evenings are balmy and the perfect temperature for dining and dancing on a patio.

One of the most charming features of Hacienda de las Flores is its rich history, which dates back to the early 20th century. Originally built as a private residence for the Moraga family, then a country club, the Hacienda has been restored to its former glory, preserving its Spanish colonial architecture and old-world charm. It’s now run flawlessly by Wedgewood, which makes it so easy for planning couples to plan their wedding day.

Loved this first dance with the bride and her mom.

Just married, guys!

The couples’ First Dance inside.

The couple specially requested that some photos be taken on black and white film, and I was more than happy to oblige! I love black and white and I think it is always timeless for wedding photos.

A super fun option at Hacienda de las Flores is their sparklers! The couples set off fireworks for their first dance and their grand exit at the end of the night.
