A Serbian Wedding in Moraga, California

Happy Anniversary to Ljubica and Milan! They were married one year ago today at the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox church in Moraga, California. Their styles were classic and traditional, so I kept the photography in a more classic style to match their aesthetic. It was really special to be a part of this wedding and document these two families coming together and honoring their faith and family traditions.

Ljubica had such an elegance and grace as a bride. She truly made her guests and family her focus.

The flower girls were so cute and adoring of the bride!

Both dad’s meeting of the first time!

In Serbian - American fashion, Ljubica's escort as she arrived at the church!

The ceremony was performed by seven priests, and felt very inclusive and intimate in the Moraga church. During the service they even beckoned me closer, as well as all the guests. It felt like a big group hug!

One of my favorite moments of the day was how immediately following the ceremony, everyone processed outside.

They joined hands and danced a kolo to the festive accordian music! Coins were also tossed in the air by the children.

Off to the reception to celebrate!

During the cocktail reception, guests were given a sprig of rosemary or ruzmarin, traditional for slavic weddings.

Add Ljubica's family traveled all the way from her home country of Montenegro.

She hadn't seen her father in six years, and their reunion was sweet. Particularly their dance together at the reception.
